First Leg of Roadtrip 2013

Over 2 weeks ago Isabella and I set off on a cross country roadtrip to visit Grandma and Grandpa Ahlering. She was AMAZING in the car! The first day we went almost half way, to Dayton OH. Luckily we had Joanna along for most of the day. She had a shower to attend in Columbus, so she road drove most of the way there. It was a HUGE help! Though it was hard to explain to Izzy for the next couple of days where Aunt Jo-Jo went.
A quick stop at a park to stretch our legs after lunch.
Playing with the magnifying glass. One of the many new treasures to occupy her in the backseat.

We stayed two nights in Dayton with couple of my friends from college. They were SUPER hosts and really set the bar high for the rest of the trip.
The first morning Megan let Isabella help make the chocolate chip pancakes. I was surprised at how well she did. Maybe we'll have to do this more often at home.
Who doesn't love chocolate chip pancakes? And why not add chocolate syrup and whipped cream-- we're on vacation right?
After breakfast we went to a nearby splash park that was JUST the right size and Isabella LOVED it! Megan was brave enough to go into the water with her. She's fun like that.

Filling the bucket is serious business.

In the afternoon we visited UD's campus. Here's she enjoying the green space I used to hang out with friends on.
It was SUPER hot! If you can't tell.
On our way out of town to our next destination, we had to stop at Bill's Donuts. My favorite doughnut shop of all time.

Thank you Megan and Joy! We had so much fun!
